Application Requirements

There are two ways to apply to The University of Texas at Austin for freshman admission:

  • The Coalition application with UT Austin-specific questions
  • The ApplyTexas application with UT Austin-specific questions

Both applications will open August 1, 2018.

UT Austin will accept either of these applications, with no preference for one over another. We ask that students submit only one online application per admissions cycle.

All students should also submit:

  • The non-refundable application fee ($75 for U.S. residents, $90 for international applicants) or fee waiver
  • An essay
  • Three short answers
  • Your high school transcript(s)
  • Any college transcript(s)
  • Official test scores
  • Major-specific items

Students have the option of also providing:

  • A résumé
  • Letter(s) of recommendation
