As the state’s premier public liberal arts college, Ramapo College of New Jersey believes success comes from learning, thinking, and living boldly. We want to awaken your curiosity with our commitment to academic excellence through interdisciplinary and experiential learning, and international and intercultural understanding, with an emphasis on collaborative teaching and individual student attention. With our focus on experiential learning, you will graduate not only with a defined skill set, but with all the intangible skills needed to thrive in an ever-changing world. We pride ourselves on our energy, our optimism, and our willingness to embrace the new — and our students are known for the same.

Ramapo offers various majors and minors across 5 academic schools. Among our academic offerings include a number of joint programs in the medical field as well as in the field of law, 4+1 programs where students can complete both an undergraduate and a graduate degree in five years full time and a College Honors Program. Other academic programs include a Pre-Medical/Pre-Health Advisement Program, a Pre-Law Advisement Program and for qualified NJ students, a NJ Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF) Program that provides both academic and financial assistance as well as a summer bridge program.

Our holistic approach to reviewing your application allows us to learn more about you as a student and individual. By taking into account academic performance and how you challenged yourself in school, your college essay and recommendations as well as involvement in non-academic activities, we want to get to you as a whole person. Ramapo is a test-optional institution for all undergraduate majors and 4+1 programs but not our joint programs in medicine and law. For those who choose to submit standardized test scores, our average SAT is 1100 - 1300 and our average ACT Composite score is 23 - 26.

We encourage every applicant to learn more about Ramapo College during the application process.
