With more than 100 majors and minors, Lycoming allows you to craft a customized, cross-disciplinary, and market-driven program tailored to your unique interests and career goals. As an undergraduate institution with 1200 students and a student to faculty ratio of just 12:1, Lycoming gives you access to nationally recognized faculty and advanced equipment from day one. Professors are both scholars in their fields as well as mentors and regularly include students in their personal research projects. Small class sizes foster workshops, hands-on labs, and discussion-based learning. Professors know you by name and might even invite you to their home for dinner.
Unique to Lycoming is our Center for Enhanced Academic Experiences, which acts as a gateway for subject-specific career advising, pre-professional/graduate school guidance, and experiential learning opportunities on a local, national, and global stage. Additionally, our hallmark Outdoor Leadership & Education (OLE) program gives you the opportunity to learn and gain valuable leadership skills through intentionally designed outdoor experiences including camping, hiking, rock-climbing, and more.
On campus, our already tight-knit community is strengthened through a variety of clubs and organizations—more than 80, to be exact! Don’t see one that’s right for you? Start one. We also have 17 NCAA Division III intercollegiate sports teams and a variety of intramural sports. It is often said that at Lycoming, it’s not a matter of if you’ll get involved, but how much.

As much as we like to tell students Why Lycoming, we have just as much fun answering the question, Why Williamsport? Nestled in Pennsylvania’s Susquehanna River Valley, Williamsport boasts year-round entertainment and outdoor excitement. Set in an urban/rural mix, Lycoming is located at the edge of downtown Williamsport, making it an easy foot or bike commute to the thriving business and shopping areas, while scenic outdoor adventures lie just beyond the horizon.
