About Florida Southern

Founded in 1883, Florida Southern is the oldest private comprehensive college in Florida and a national leader in engaged learning, offering nearly 60 distinguished undergraduate and graduate degree programs. FSC is conveniently located within an hour's drive of both Orlando and Tampa and home to the world's largest collection of Frank Lloyd Wright architecture, designated a National Historic Landmark in 2012. Florida Southern is an internationally-recognized place of beauty and academic excellence.

FSC is a national leader in engaged learning, an approach that incorporates hands-on experience into each degree program and gives students a taste of daily life in their field and a deeper understanding of the curriculum through real-world application of knowledge. Our students appreciate small classes that engage them with hands-on activities, discussions, presentations, guest speakers, and experiences designed to bring their education to life. Internships are a key part of experiential education because they allow students to apply in real-world situations what they are learning in the classroom. Enhance your educational experience at FSC by working closely with a faculty member to pursue scholarly research and creative activities in your field of study.

Nothing illustrates the value of a Florida Southern education more powerfully than the success of our graduates. Their ability to solve real-world challenges makes them highly sought after by the nation’s top employers and graduate programs. Our graduates enter a variety of industries and go on to work for some of the biggest names in corporate America—making a difference from day one with the skills acquired at Florida Southern.
